Douglas Spencer Vice President, |
As Vice President, Brand Management, Douglas is responsible for managing all aspects of bringing to life the Thomson Reuters brand from strategic alignment to employee engagement, governance and verbal and visual identity. Thomson Reuters is the world's leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals and employs approximately 60,000 people in over 100 countries. In 2011, Thomson Reuters was ranked 37 amongst the Interbrand Best Global Brands Survey. Douglas has a host of experience from such industries as financial services, publishing, healthcare, higher education, health and human services, and high tech. He has a bachelor of arts in journalism with additional concentration in history from Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio.

Michael Istvanko |
Michael is responsible for managing provider relations, marketing, business development and public relations for Hospice of the North Shore. Founded in 1978 Hospice of the North Shore is the largest non-profit provider of hospice services in Massachusetts. Michael’s prior sales and marketing experience was gained at Starbucks Coffee, Frito-Lay and PepsiCo. He also served as an Account Director at The Richards Group advertising agency where he was responsible for the integration of all advertising disciplines to develop optimal marketing strategies for Wyndham Hotels and Reliant Energy. Michael is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.

John M. DeCiccio |
Prior to his retirement in July 2004, John served as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. and was a member of Hancock’s eight-person Policy Committee, which set the strategic direction for the company. He has served on the boards of the AIDS Action Commmittee, the Nantucket AIDS Network and Elderhostel. John is fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the Academy of Actuaries and the Boston Actuaries Club. He graduated summa cum laude with a BA in mathematics from the College of the Holy Cross.

Robert H. Hale, Esq. Partner, Retired, Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP |
Prior to his retirement in 2011, Bob was a member of EWP’s Public Finance Department concentrating his practice in the representation of governmental units, financial institutions and private corporations in connection with the development and financing of major governmental programs and publicly-assisted projects, including health care, affordable housing, water and wastewater and sports and convention facilities. Bob’s clients included the cities of Boston and New York, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency and the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. Bob also served as lead counsel to Fenway for the financing of its community health center and research facility at 1340 Boylston Street.

Robin A. Atlas, M.D.
|
Robin was elected to the Fenway Board in September of 2005. She practiced primary care internal medicine at the Kenmore Center of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates for 20 years, was the first Medical Director of that independent multi-specialty group practice, and retired as Chief Medical Officer Emerita. In addition, Robin is also P resident of the Board of the Brookline Community Mental Health Center.

Joanne Herman |
Joanne retired in 2010 as Financial Controller for NEFA, the Boston-based grant-maker to the arts, where she was responsible for accounting, financial reporting, benefits administration, and information technology. She was previously Director of Finance for what is now the French Cultural Center of Boston, and has prior experience in information technology for Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) and Johnson & Johnson, in accounting and auditing for what is now PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and as an independent part-time CFO. Joanne also sits on the Board of Point Foundation. Joanne holds a BA in Government and Economics from Dartmouth College and an MS/MBA from Northeastern University. She is the author of the book Transgender Explained For Those Who Are Not. She lives in the Boston area with her wife, Theresa (Terry) Fallon, is fluent in French, and is an avid bowler.

Andrea J. Cabral, Esq. Massachusetts Secretary of Public Safety and Security |
Andrea J. Cabral, Esq. is Secretary of Public Safety and Security for the state of Massachusetts. As Secretary, Cabral oversees 13 public safety agencies responsible for law enforcement, criminal justice, forensic sciences and homeland security. Previously, Cabral served as the 30th Sheriff of Suffolk County, the first Black American female sheriff in Massachusetts history. Following a call by the Stern Commission for significant reform in the Sheriff’s Department, she was appointed to the position by former Governor Jane Swift in 2002 and won election in 2004. Under Suffolk County District Attorney Ralph C. Martin, she was an Assistant District Attorney from 1993-2002 during a period of unprecedented community partnership, outreach and engagement. Cabral is the author of the book Obtaining, Enforcing and Defending 209A Restraining Orders in Massachusetts and co-author of the article, Creating Courtroom Accessibility from the book Same-Sex Domestic Violence by Beth Levanthal and Sandra Lundy, Esq., Ph.D. She is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School.

Joseph Castellana, PhD
|
Joe has focused his career on strengthening hospitals and health care organizations through progressive and fiscally sound operational leadership. He is currently the Vice President, Medical Administration for the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, a division of the Partners Healthcare system. In that capacity, he oversees the administrative functions of medical affairs, research, and education for the Spaulding network. Prior to joining Spaulding, Joe served as the Executive Associate Dean at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, overseeing the school’s finances, facilities, clinical and academic operations, and leading its strategic planning process. He has also held senior leadership positions in both academic medical centers and a community hospital. Joe earned a B.S. from Boston College, an M.B.A. from Suffolk University, and a Ph.D. in Health Policy from Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management, where he also taught Corporate Finance.

Dan is President and founder of Northfield Information Services, Inc., which develops quantitative models of financial markets. Northfield is based in Boston with additional staff in six countries. The firm’s clients include nearly three hundred financial institutions in a twenty countries. Dan is a Visiting Professor at Brunel University in London, and has authored more than a dozen books and journal articles. |

John Fitzgerald Gates, Ph.D. Principal |
Leader, strategist, and organizational scientist, Dr. John Fitzgerald
Gates specializes in helping companies and mission-driven enterprises
with change management, organizational and leadership development, and
diversity issues. He is an outstanding public speaker, facilitator of
organizational conversations and retreats, presenter at professional
meetings, and executive coach. He has served in a variety of roles,
including as Associate Dean of Administration and Finance at Harvard
College, and a Member of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard
University and as Executive Director of Global Operations at New York
University where he led NYU’s international network of campuses in
Argentina, the Czech Republic, Spain, France, Italy and Great Britain.

Charles Hindmarsh
|
Prior to his retirement in 2008 Charlie was an executive vice president of State Street Corporation. He held many positions at State Street during his 30 years with the company including President and CEO of State Street Global Markets LLC the registered broker dealer of the corporation. He also oversaw and was a director of four finance companies administered by State Street in the US, Europe and Australia. He served as Managing Director of the bank’s investment banking arm, held an oversees assignment in London and held various positions in the bank prior to his role in State Street Global Markets. Charlie was educated in England and prior to his retirement was a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the Mass Society of CPAs. He serves on the board of a bank based in South Dakota and is on the board of the Marginal Way Preservation Fund in Ogunquit Maine. He resides in Fort Lauderdale and Ogunquit.

John Koss, Esq. |
John is an attorney at Mintz Levin where his practice focuses on the national coordination of trial and e-discovery strategy for, primarily, the firm’s life sciences and biotechnology clients. In this capacity, John advises clients throughout all phases of litigation and the disposition of matters either at trial or through settlement. John also performs extensive pro bono representation involving privacy issues confronting domestic violence prevention organizations, prisoners’ rights, and political asylum. John is a member of Mintz Levin’s Hiring and Diversity Committees. Outside of the office, John is a Lecturer at Boston University School of Law where he teaches in the Legal Writing Program. John is also a member of Fenway’s Board of Visitors and the Steering Committee for the Young Leader’s Council.

Ashley Lucas
|
Ashley Lucas is the Community Manager for The Welcoming Committee; an organization dedicated to planning and launching LGBTQ takeover events. Before that role, Ashley was the founder and CEO of Diffuse 5, a digital media company that connected the lesbian community with events, entertainment and information throughout Boston. Ashley has been with Fenway’s Board of Directors since 2011 and serves as the Co-Chair of its Young Leaders Council.

Liz Page, CFRE Principal, Liz Page Associates |
After ten years as a performing artist with the Oregon Mime Theatre, Liz Page moved to Boston and began her development career at the Worcester Art Museum. When the AIDS crisis hit she also became a dedicated volunteer at the AIDS ACTION Committee, where she launched the AIDS Walk – From All Walks of Life. As Walk Manager for 5 years, she led the team that raised consciousness and millions of dollars towards fighting the epidemic. In 1994 Liz opened Liz Page Associates, a fundraising and special event production company. Liz and her staff have developed a reputation for producing events that raise significant dollars and express the mission of an organization with unforgettable power and style. Liz married her spouse, Marianne Stravinskas in 2004 and they have a daughter, Chloe Catherine. They live in Milton, Massachusetts.

Brian Price Associate Clinical Director, Department of OB/GYN, Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates

Brian has been a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist in the Boston area since 1992. He has delivered babies at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Lowell General Hospital and is currently working out of Mt. Auburn Hospital. Since 2003, he has also been the associate clinical director for OB/GYN for Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, responsible for operations and development of 17 different outpatient clinics and 7 different hospital groups. He has special interest in strategic practice development and medical quality metrics, as well as quality improvement programs. In a previous life, he was a professional ballet dancer, circus performer, LDS missionary and German scholar. Really. |

Jose Leopoldo Romero , Jr. |
Jose Leopoldo Romero, Jr. joined Fenway’s Board of Directors in 2008. Leo, as he is known to his friends, is an entrepreneur who has opened 7 different restaurants in Boston and Vermont and has been recognized by both the city of Boston and state of Massachusetts for his contribution to promoting Latin culture and community. He is a former United States Army and Foreign Service Officer, as well as a Lecturer in Spanish at Tufts University. He has written text books for bilingual education and the teacher’s guide for their use. Leo served for 11 years on the Board of Boston Senior Home Care and currently serves on the Boards of the Fenway Garden Society, Ramler Park and the Association of Mexican Restaurants in New England.

John is the Vice President of Finance at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and has over 30 years of experience in healthcare finance. Prior to joining Dana-Farber, John was a partner in the healthcare practice of Ernst & Young where he provided audit and consulting services to clients located throughout the New England area.

Richard Taranto Executive Vice President, Business Development at WorldCare Clinical, LLC |
Rick Taranto is executive vice president of business development at WorldCare Clinical. Since joining WCC in 2002, he has managed multiple clinical imaging trials for biopharmaceutical and medical device companies, including more than 25 Phase II-IV studies, and developed and implemented management tools to streamline organizational effectiveness. Before coming to WCC, Rick was senior project manager at Perceptive Informatics. Rick has been involved with Fenway for many years, as a member of the Board of Visitors and served as the Chair of the Men’s Event in 2011. He earned a B.S. degree in zoology from the University of Rhode Island and an M.B.A. from Boston College.

Gail Tsimprea, PhD |
Gail is the Chief Quality and Risk Management Officer at McLean
Hospital. In this role, she assesses practice patterns and treatment
guidelines and oversees the delivery of care throughout the McLean
continuum of care. Her activities emphasize the importance of how
patients and their families experience the care that they receive.
